Flatter & Associates Esteemed Employee Graduates From Leadership Fredericksburg

Flatter and Associates, Inc. (Flatter), a Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce participant and supporter, congratulates our team member, Ms. Erica Link, on her graduation from the 2015 Leadership Fredericksburg program!

The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Fredericksburg (LF) Program is a highly selective fellowship that develops local leaders as they learn about the businesses, issues, government, history, resources, and challenges that impact the economic and community dynamics of the Fredericksburg region.  This nine-month program enhances participants’ team-building skills as they partner with area nonprofits and “give back” to the local community. This special program brings together professionals from many different industries to focus on one common goal and complete a project with a local cause while fine tuning their leadership skills. Ms. Link had the opportunity to work with a cause that she was very passionate about, the Fredericksburg Regional Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). She and her team partnered with business students from the University of Mary Washington to provide in-depth analysis of the SPCA’s business plan. As an Non-Profit independent No-Kill shelter that must raise 100% of its annual budget, Ms. Link and her teammates developed strategies to assist the SPCA in meeting their future goals. In the process, Ms. Link and her teammates helped to rebrand the SPCA’s vision statement to more accurately describe its goal, which now reads “Every animal deserves a happily ever after.”

Ms. Link, who is the fourth LF graduate from Flatter, described her time at LF as “a unique experience that one cannot put into words.” Upon her graduation, President & CEO, J.R. Flatter (LF ’12) stated, “We are all very proud of Erica for attending and graduating from this prestigious program. She has achieved above and beyond our expectations regarding her personal and professional development during her tenure with Leadership Fredericksburg. We look forward to her continued contributions to both Flatter and the community for many years to come.” Upon graduating, participants may join the LF Alumni and have further opportunities to serve on the Leadership Advisory Board, mentor future program participants, assume a leadership role in the Alumni, and help implement future Chamber programs.
