Flatter, Inc. (Flatter) recently founded the Student-Parent-Mentor Partnerships – a non-profit organization that introduces the “realm of the possible” to Students and their Parents in partnership with an experienced Mentor. As a first step toward this vision, Flatter recently distributed connectivity devices and connectivity subscriptions to ten rural families the Fredericksburg, VA region which enabled their children to attend virtual classes from their homes and also invited students and parents to participate in a free 12-week coaching program beginning on 9 September 2020. These coaching sessions are scheduled to take place on Wednesdays, when the students do not have instruction time scheduled.
Although not a Science-Technology-Engineering-Math (STEM) program, the Student-Parent-Mentor Partnerships complements STEM programs. To ensure the program’s success, Flatter is dedicating a full-time employee and the necessary seed funding.
